PATA - Kursy letnie 2025

W ramach tego kursu uczestnicy będą mieli możliwość poznania technik związanych z wykonaniem ilustracji i komiksu, które stanowią bazę do kreowania podstaw CONCEPT ARTU. Prowadzący zaprezentuje możliwości aspektów związanych z CONCEPT ARTEM, ukazując jednocześnie, jak szerokie i złożone jest to pojęcie. W trakcie zajęć każdy uczestnik będzie miał możliwość rozwinięcia swoich umiejętności kreatywnych i warsztatowych.

Zadania przewidziane do realizacji podczas kursu to:

1) Wykonanie tak zwanej KRÓTKIEJ FORMY KOMIKSOWEJ
2) Zrealizowanie ilustracji okładkowej do książki lub komiksu
3) Zdefiniowanie PLANSZY PREZENTACYJNEJ (kompozycja, układ, layout, itp.) w formacie 100 cm x 70 cm, na której znaleźć powinny się elementy matte painting'u, przeobrażeń głównej koncepcji, inspiracje oraz opracowanie typograficzno - informacyjne.
4) STORYBOARD analogie i różnice do komiksu i innych form ilustrowania. Element pre-produkcji filmu i gier. Wykonanie kilku storyboard'ów adresowanych do wybranej grupy realizującej film lub grę.
5) MIMIKA – wykonanie trzech portretów własnej twarzy w trzech ujęciach, gdzie portret jest bezwzględnie identyfikowany z osobą portretowaną.
Sekwencja zadania dzieli się na trzy następujące części:
a) Trzy fotograficzne portrety twarzy z maksymalnie zróżnicowaną mimiką
b) Za pomocą rysunku przypisanie do wyżej wymienionych portretów mordki ulubionych zwierzaków, dopasowując jednocześnie ich mimikę do własnej, uprzednio sportretowanej twarzy
c) Do narysowanych zwierzątek należy opracować trzy logotypy, symbole graficzne. Jest to praca typowo projektowa, ocierająca się o glif

GABRIEL KOŁAT Prof. Head of the Comics, Illustration and Film and Game Preproduction Studio.

Gabriel Kołat was born in Łódź in 1957. He began his studies at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź in 1977 and graduated in 1984. From 1988 he worked at the School as Prof. Marian Kępiński’s assistant at the Painting Studio in the Department of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture. In 1996 he obtained a doctorate and earned habilitation in 2004. Since 2008 he has been in charge of the Drawing, Illustration and Comics Studio at the Faculty of Graphics and Painting of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź. It is the first and only studio of this kind in Poland. Gabriel Kołat has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Poland and abroad.

In 2007 he formulated the idea of authorial expositions of paintings and drawings (realized in the past and created in connection with the discussed expositions) accompanied by an exhibition catalogue prepared by the author of the works - works presented in such a catalogue create an independent space-time set and become not only the author’s attempt to catalogue the presented pieces, but also a separate editorial form of esoteric, abstract and associative character, a comics narrative, an art book, etc. The originator of this manner of arranging elements of the exhibit called it COMIX’sage. COMIX’sage may be presented as a solo or group exhibition. The first exhibition of this type, entitled ‘COMIX’sage’ was held in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź on April 1st, 2009. Gabriel Kołat works in the fields of painting, drawing, graphic art, illustration, comics and composes music.

Szymon Sobczak Asystent

A graduate of the Strzemiński Academy of Art in Łódź. In 2015 he was awarded a diploma in Professor Gabriel Kołat’s studio of Comics, Illustration and Film and Game Preproduction.
His activities focus mainly on comic book and illustrative art. He is interested in various narrative forms . Also paints and writes scripts. In 2014 he drew, inked and coloured “Wybieg” - a comic book published by Stowarzyszenie Monopol Warszawski. In years 2014-2016 he ran a series of comic book workshops. In 2017–2019 he worked as an assistant to Professor Gabriel Kołat at Comics, Film and Game Preproduction Workshops, within PATA Summer Courses.
