Ewa Latkowska-Żychska
Professor Latkowska Żychska graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź in 1976. She was granted her diploma in Professor Antoni Starczeski’s studio. She works in the fields of textile art and paper and creates painterly compositions realized by the use of authorial techniques. Professor Latkowska Żychska is the founder of the Paper Studio at the Stremiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź which she has manged since 1997. In the year 2000 she was granted the title of professor.

She has participated in numerous international exhibitions (over 200), these including: the 8th International Biennial of Tapestry, Lausanne, 1977, ‘Vision Tapestry. Convergence 94’, Minneapolis, 1994, ‘Harmony: Interpretations of Nature in Contemporary Tapestry’, Atlanta, 1998, ‘Consument Art’, Germany, 1997, 2002, ‘Karpit 1/Tapestry 1’, Hungary, 2001; ‘From Lausanne to Beijing’, China, 2010, 2012, 2014, ‘Korea Paper Culture Art Open Competition’ – honorary mention, Seul, 2011, ‘Cheongju International Crafts Biennial’, Corea, 2013.

Professor Latkowska Żychska has participated in many prestigious exhibitions of Polish art abroad in the USA, Izrael, Brasil, Portugal and Mexico among many others.

Recently she took part in the exhibition „Splendor tkaniny” (Splendor of Textile), the National Art Gallery ‘Zachęta’, Warsaw, 2013.

She has been awarded twice for her compositions made of handmade, authorial paper at the international exhibitions in Japan, ‘Contest 2004’ and ‘Contest 2005’. A book made by the artist can be found in the collection of the Museum and Library of Musashino Art University, Tokio.
Her works have been presented on numerous solo exhibitions: Manggha, Cracow 2006, DAP Warsaw 2007, Stadische Galerie Villa Zanders, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany 2009, the Browarna Gallery, Łowicz 2013.
