Bartek Smoczyński
Born in 1971. Since late 1980’s he has cooperated with the Wschodnia Gallery and in later years with the Artist’s Museum, as its resident artist. Since 1990 he has worked in the field of photography. After finishing his military service, with the help of Paweł Tryzna, he became acquainted with typography and lettering, which determined his later professional development. His meeting with Tadeusz Piechura has had a major influence on his attitude towards design and his work in that field. During the following yars he worked in the field of photography and printmaking. In the years 1996 - 1998 he worked as a technical assistant at the Screen Printing Studio of the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Łódź. In 1996 he worked on editing animated films in STO Films. He learned basics of film editing from Krzysztof Rynkiewicz during the realization of psychedelic adventures of Kulfon and Monika. In later years he worked as a graphic artist for advertising agencies in Warsaw, Munich, Sopot and London. In 2001 he returned to Łódź. For the last 10 years his work has been mainly focused on designing logotypes, books and posters.
